A number of factors can be the
reasons for insomnia. They can be psychological issues or physical disease. Because there are so many different
causes of insomnia, so it is not easy to know the root of the problem without consulting a doctor. But, they can be classified into some categories.
Psychological reasons
These
reasons for insomnia can be stress, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and post traumatic stress disorder. These conditions are grouped into the category of mental disease or
mental disorders, but the psychological problems that evoke insomnia are not always that severe. Every person has ever experienced stress, tension, fear and nervousness, which can induce insomnia.
Drugs reasons
It is general that drugs can be the
reasons for insomnia or sleeplessness. The stimulant like caffeine and alcohol can evoke difficulty to sleep. If you consume too much coffee during the day, caffeine – the substance that contained in coffee-will affect your brain and disturb your ability to fall asleep. Alcohol can also disturb
your sleep. Other stimulants that can also disrupt your regular sleep cycle are cocaine, amphetamines, ephedrine, methamphetamine, and some kinds of herbs.
Environmental changes
Many people are accustomed to a regular nightly routine and conditions which must be in place to get a good night’s sleep. Any change of this routine can be the reasons for insomnia since it disrupts the physical and emotional balance which can lead to
sleeplessness. Jet lag can also make difficulty to sleep.
After we know several reasons for insomnia, we should avoid anything that can lead us to sleeplessness as far as we can. At least, we know how to reduce the sleep disorder. But, if it needed, consulting to a doctor is a good idea. The doctor will help to overcome your problem to get a
good night’s sleep.
